Ethical Sourcing and Transparency

At Cloestar and Mason Tyler, we are deeply committed to ethical practices and transparent production. Our dedicated merchandising team works directly with our manufacturing partners, maintaining regular contact with our factories to ensure that every product meets our high-quality standards.

All of our designs are developed in California and produced around the world in collaboration with factories that adhere to a strict code of conduct. This code is non-negotiable and enforces the following fundamental principles:

  • The absolute prohibition of child labor and forced work.
  • The guarantee of fair and living wages for all employees.
  • Safe and healthy working conditions, regularly monitored.

Our manufacturing partners are leaders in the industry, recognized with numerous awards and certifications.

Certified Social Responsibility

  • WRAP Certification: We actively seek to work with factories that hold WRAP certification — the largest independent program for apparel and footwear manufacturing. This certification process emphasizes ethical practices and social responsibility by requiring facilities to comply with 12 core principles through a collaborative and rigorous approach.
  • BCI & BSCI Focus: We actively seek to work with facilities certified by BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) or BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), which focus on improving global cotton production by mitigating its negative impacts and benefiting farming communities and local economies.

Through these certifications and yearly third-party audits, our partners commit to measurable improvements that benefit the environment, farming communities, and the local economies regions. We proudly share our commitment to responsible production within a global network of like-minded organizations.

Thoughtfully Sourced Premium Fabrics

At CLOÉSTAR and Mason Tyler, we prioritize fabrics that reflect our commitment to safety, comfort, and responsible sourcing. Whenever possible, we select materials that meet the following standards:

  • OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified, verifying materials that are free from harmful substances wherever available.
  • Responsibly produced, with an emphasis on ethical manufacturing and traceable sourcing.
  • Primarily natural fiber compositions when suitable for the product and intended performance.
  • Colored using natural or low-impact dyes, with a focus on avoiding heavy metals and high-toxicity colorants wherever possible.

While materials may vary depending on the specific product and its performance needs, we continuously work with trusted partners to source fabrics that align with these principles whenever possible.

We maintain a strict ban on the following chemicals:

  • Antimicrobial chemicals
  • Formaldehyde
  • Pesticides
  • Phthalates
  • PFCs (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances)
  • PVC (Polyvinyl chloride)
  • VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)

Sustainability Initiatives

Our commitment to sustainability extends to every aspect of our packaging. All of our packaging materials — includes fully recycled polybags and FSC paper hangtags. We recognize that the apparel industry is often associated with excess waste, so we take pride in using packaging that can be easily recycled at home.

By sourcing only the highest-quality materials, we are able to offer garments and accessories that not only endure over time but also retain their appeal through repeated wear and washes. We believe that beloved clothing should be cherished and shared rather than discarded. This is why we emphasize the production of durable, long-lasting products that continue to perform well beyond their initial use.
